The Journalist Robert Fisk was last weeks guest on BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs.

Robert Fisk is the Middle East correspondent for The Independent. He has been based in Beirut for almost 30 years. From there he travels throughout the region. He is the author of Pity the Nation: The Abduction of Lebanon.

He is winner of the Amnesty International UK Press Award. He’s received the British International Journalist of the Year Award seven times. His latest book is The Great Clash of Civilizations.
